Team Stevo - Societies

Over the last year, we’ve seen a number of societies grow and we anticipate the development of many more new societies in the future. There is sometimes a minimal membership fee, called ‘subs’, to cover venue and equipment costs. Stephenson College JCR encourages all types of activities to become established as societies and these are developed and run entirely by students.

If you have an interest and want to turn it into something more, then why not look into making it into a society. For example, last year students at Stephenson College established ‘Stephenson Union,’ ‘Open Forums’ and many more! So if you have a passion for something and a society for it does not already exist, please contact your Societies Officer, Mariam Ibrahim, for more information on Stephenson.jcr-societies@durham.ac.uk.
